Unwoven
Woven from salvaged wool and silk, this piece explores the relationship between structure and absence.
The cloth is woven at the top and bottom, while the centre remains open, a space where the weave comes to a pause.
Rather than repairing the interruption, I have allowed the absence to become part of the work.
Using materials with their own histories and previous lives, I am interested in what can emerge from fragments, imperfections and moments of change.
A quiet meditation on memory, fragility and the spaces between.
