I’m really pleased to be sharing a new body of work, Rituals, now on show at Selected Space, Sheffield.

The environment I work in is not simply a backdrop; it is a collaborator. It is a grounding force that shapes both my process and the work itself. I believe the spaces we inhabit hold a quiet power, and that beauty, order and intention can create the conditions for creativity to unfold.

My studio reflects this belief. Filled with light and pared back to simplicity, with the scent of essential oils, it holds the day in a calm balance.

Each morning begins with a ritual. I smudge sage, light incense and clear the space, not only physically, but energetically, preparing myself for what is to come. At the end of each day, the ritual reverses. Materials are packed away, surfaces cleared and the space made ready to begin again.

This daily rhythm has become a practice in itself: a gesture of care and a promise to return.

That same spirit of repetition flows into the work. Within Rituals, hand-stitching and weaving become meditative acts. Each thread, mark and knot is a record of presence and time.

What begins as ordinary can become sacred through repetition. A simple act, performed again and again, can transform into something enduring.
